Trademark

We perform and achieve trademark registrations in the Puerto Rico Trademark Office, the United States Patent and Trademark Office and assist in foreign registrations.  Before securing trademark rights clearance opinions are prepared. Beléndez Law Offices understand the importance of maintining a trademark and routinely advises clients on deadlines for declarations of use and renewals.

Also, as part of our services, we represent clients in trademark oppositions and cancellation proceedings both at the Puerto Rico Trademark Office and the United States Patent and Trademark Office.   We also represent clients in the enforcement and potential litigation to secure their trademark rights.  Trademark coexisting, assignment and license agreements are routinely prepared for our clients when needed.

Copyrights

We represent clients who with to register their works of authorship in the U.S. Copyright Office and their moral rights at the Puerto Rico Department of State.  Beléndez Law Offices has aided clients in their copyright registrations of computer software and sound recordings in the U.S. Copyright Office.    We also prepare coyright assignment, license and work made for hire agreements to accommodate our clients’ needs.  Beléndez Law Offices also assists clients in the enforcement and copyright infringement litigation.

Trade Secrets and Rights of Publicity

We counsel clients on trade secret protection and enforcement consistently preparing non-disclosure agreements when necessary, drafting trade secrets licenses and filing suits under the Puerto Rico Trade Secret Protection Law.

We also prepare right of publicity licenses and enforce publicity rights under the Puerto Rico Publicity Act.
